I was able to step out of the house while the wife and baby went shopping. I went over to Beech and Alder to see what was biting on a beautiful bluebird day with warmer than normal temperatures. I ran into Curly and he was not having a ton of success, but I pressed on anyhow. I ended up catching four in Beech, but nothing of size. The four I landed came on seven bites.
I landed one in Alder that came from the depths to eat the swimming jig. Nothing of great size, maybe 12in, but it was cool to see him come up and gulp in the bait. I had no other bites at Alder.
Good to get out. Glad I remembered what a bite and hookset felt like. Trips will be few and far between, but I'll take em!
Glad you got out....good for the soul!
I have had some pretty good luck over the past weeks with lipless cranks from the shores of the pavilion, only get out for an hour or so per trip. averaging 2-3 fish per trip. around a pound or so each
