Two Hundred and Fifty Seven Fish! All white perch except for Bob's spot and striper.
Eight fish over 11 inches!!!!!!
No fish under 10" was kept.....almost 40 in the cooler! Hundreds in the 8-9" range!
OK, now for the report! We put in at 0630 and we fished from 0650 until 1300. We spent most of our time on the Severn but we did spend a bit over an hour in Spa Creek. The Severn fish were bigger and meaner!
We hit many new spots along the same side that we have been fishing the rip rap since discovering it on our trip with John Page Williams. This time, we went further in towards the creek and we were rewarded with non stop action.
The box is 9" wide.....
Even this little spot!
When we didn't get any hits after 5-7 casts....we just moved a little and it would start all over again!
Curly had the double rig going and was putting up some impressive numbers (size too!).
After a bit of that, Bob switched over to a double rig and his numbers started to rise. Me? I kept trying to catch 'em with different stuff. I did fine using several rigs but the classic beetle spin was the choice today.
Cool scenery....
Curly tried these.....
....but had no luck but once in Spa Creek, I caught a few using them. I kept one...don't tell Curly!
We had to be back on land at a certain time 'cause Curly had a date to get to. But he kept pushing the time and when it was getting late, we got back to the dock and the typical nonsense was happening!
These guys just tied up their boats and left them while they either got their trucks or put away the trailers. The problem is that the parking lot is not close to the ramp so we waited 20 minutes while they got their act together. There was plenty of room to bring the boats to the other side of the ramp.
Well, that was the only bad part of the trip...Curly and I made it almost all the way home without traffic incidents but we still got home in time for him not to get hollered at!
Fishing with Bob and Curly is always a pleasure as they are low (no) maintenance.
Oh....we had something else happen that turned out to be a huge HIGH! I have a really nice GLoomis Ultra Light that I bought for 1/3 the retail price 2 years ago. This is an incredible perch rod that puts a big bend on when a fish is caught. I dropped it in the water.... no way!!!!! Yes way!
Quickly, Curly triangulated the spot and all three of us started to drag the bottom with heavier lures. I really did not expect to retrieve it but Bob was certain that we would. Sure enough, a few minutes later I snagged something and up came my rod! Sweet!
Final tally:
Curly- 110
Bob- 81
Ernie-66
I told Bob that I really needed a day like this.....I am sure Carl is smiling down on us!

Wow, looks like you guys had a great time out there!!
Ernie - Did the gas station attendant ever give you your receipt after filling up the boat?
Every time I fill up at that Citgo station the machine never gives me a copy and I have to walk in to request one just like you did!!

You talking about the 7-11? I had given her cash but needed the receipt that has all the info so I can submit to the state for a tax refund.

And further up too....grass, rip rap, beach, overhanging trees (shade)...it was nuts! Bob and I threw out about 20 feet where there was some shade from a tree...BAM...got hit immidiately! The point did not fish as well....the further north we went, the better.
That's where we will go on Sept. 1!

How far up did you fish? Did you fish in Carr Creek or farther north than that?

Never really made it into Carr Creek. We stayed on the same shoreline as the two big towers and just drifted down just down from the mouth of the creek. We covered every nook and cranny....lost a few lures in the process.
