That fish looks like 3 ft section of a giant anaconda. Congrats on your first SN!! Have these things been caught in the upper Potomac?

No. They are not upstream of Little Falls.

Some have been reported (but not confirmed) in the Monacacy River.

A courting pair was reported and subsequently shocked up by DNR in a pool in one of the tributaries up there

Curly, have you eaten that sucker yet? I'm dying to hear a critique from a hardcore pescivore (fish eater...) like yourself!

Not yet............the wife is a little leery of it . I gave Ernie 1/2 of the fillets yesterday. My plan is to eat it this coming week and will post the "fish-connoisseurs critique" on this thread................

I'll have to tell my wife that it is "rockfish" or she will not take a bite. If I'm able to fool her and then tell her it's snakehead............I might be staying at Thai's townhouse for a while .............

I was surprised that he was not quoted on "using Frog-Togs to catch them in the rain" or any of 20 other sponsor's stuff he hawks unrelentingly.

Have you seen his appearance on a 911 documentary? Rediculous...
Offline
Where can I see the documentary? His emails that are called reports that he sends are just him rambling bout his sponsors.
Offline
I saw it on the discovery channel i believe but don't quote me on that, he's on his boat decked out head to toe in sponsor affiliation

He once told me he just likes those products and did not get paid! Sure....I have some land in Cuba for sale if anyone wants to buy.....

Cooked the snakehead fillets on the grill this evening. Marinaded in real butter and fish rub and then placed on a hot grill.
All I can say is WOW! Best tasting white fish I've ever had......even better than Alaskan halibut caught and cooked the same day . Didn't tell the girls that it was snakehead until after they had complemented me on how good the fish was..........no one hit me . The meat is nice and firm, like tuna, and flakes easily.
Northern Snakehead fishing (and eating) has me hooked. I will be hunting snakeheads much more in the future!

Having mine tomorrow....will rub with EVOO and some other stuff!

Atta boy Curly! I knew you'd like it!
