Working and Fishing, 6-21-10

I was up in CT on business (company HQ) and I got an invite to do a little evening fishing out of Westport.

Blake is a fishing guide and the husband of a coworker. He did not have a charter but like all good Captains, he wanted to go fishing so I went along.

No camera on this trip.....

He has a 22' Skeeter bay boat slipped at the Cedar Point Yacht Club. We were on the fishing grounds within 8 minutes.

Our target was to try to catch some of the big stripers that are still roaming around on their migration up north.there was lots of baits but no chasing. We got 5 runs but no takers (using cut bunker....BIG bunker).

I did manage 3 blues casting soft plastics so it was nice getting some pullage.

The tide did not run as anticipated and it was flat calm. The water temps were still in the 60's!

I think I need to make more trips up to CT!

I will be up that way in August and hopefully find some black fin tuna. Got my fly rod all tuned up.

With all the concrete and steel around the NY area, I was amazed at how nice the sound was (Norwalk Islands area). It's a whole another world!
