Potomac River Report - 06/11/10

I went out with a buddy on the Potomac on Friday for what was a beautiful weather day. When I compliment the weather as the first part of my report, you can guess what the best part of the day was!

Fishing was slow. We landed a total of eight over the course of the day with the biggest five maybe going 7lbs. We had good tides, good moons, but a tough bite. We landed fish on soft plastics, flukes, and a chatterbait. We fished a variety of main river grassbeds north of Leesylvania. The most promising area was Greenway Flats. We also fished Mount Vernon, Pamunky Creek, and Occoquan/Belmont Bay. Nothing big, a few missed bites, but otherwise a slow day.

Still, it was great to get out and help my buddy ahead of his tournament next week. He was able to eliminate some water and that is always a good thing.

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Your report is similar to what we experienced on the Chick"....but it was great to be out.

Glad you got out....
