Potomac River - 05/13/10

I went out on the Potomac today with my boss to discuss my career and also to do some fishing. We started out in the Spoils and then made our way down to Bellhaven. We finished up in the Pentagon cove (Columbia Island Marina). We caught fish everywhere and overall had a great day. I caught all my fish on a Sexy Shad Rattle bug. My boss was successful with soft plastics. Though we targeted bass, we caught Crappie, Yellow Perch, and Bass. I have included pictures of all three including a solid bass I landed that tipped my scale at 4lb 11oz. If you look at her, she looks bigger than that, but hey, what can I say?!

2 Yellow Perch
14 Bass

My scale is messing with my head for sure. I think that fish was over 5lbs! Oh well, I can only go with what it showed me.

He has a Trophy Center Console with a 150 Mercury Outboard. It is a nice boat. He plans on installing a trolling motor next year. For now, we drift, but he has that down to a science.

We fished isolated grass clumps on the north side of the Bellhaven Island.
