Got the wife up at 4 am and off to fishing the DC Potomac. Had lines in the water after 6 am. Did battle with several cats (including a 30+ pounder) on cut herring before the sun got up good. Then we started catching herring for live bait.

I started catching them after Ellen got tied of reeling in doubles and triples for 30 minutes or so.

Then the rockfish started biting.............a nice 23"

A nice 24"

Another 23"

Then a 26"

All I could manage was the 15" punk.

Ernie showed up with some kids for the "fishing derby". They were squeeling the whole time and having a blast catching lots of herring. Oh yeah, Ernie was squeeling too..............

After reeling so many fish today, Ellen needed a short nap before the ride home.

It was a great day of fishing, except that my right hand is torn to shreads from taking so many fish off the hooks........including well over 200 herring.

I just reel them in and John does all the work. ....
The girls you hosted on your boat seemed to have a great time pulling in all of those fish. It was very generous of you to give your time...I am sure your arms and hands are worn out from taking all of those fish off of the hooks!!!
