I recently purchased a new toy Today was her maiden voyage and I was very impressed with her and don't regret dropping the dough on her. Compared to "Feel the Burn" (my old yak) she's a totally different beast and I love it!
Here's a pic of the old (green) and the new (tan).
I'm killin' you aren't I? You don't care bout my yak!
Met up with my friend Jeremy at my friend's private pond at noon. The water was cold and really stained so we didn't expect to catch much. From my experience, when the water is this dirty the fish are really close to shore or really tight to cover so I pulled out a black/blue jig and started pitchin into tight cover. Nailed my first one doing this.
I continued to do this with a lot of success a long with a blue/black chatterbait. We ended the day with around 20 bass each. Cookie cutter bass and ALL keepers. Almost ALL my fish were at least 2lbs.
These two were the smallest.
Jeremy was hammering them out as well but I think his smaller jig was getting him smaller fish. He said his average fish was about 1.5lbs.
While I'm hammering away at the bass, jeremy pedals on over to show me a fish that finally broke the mold. A nice 4lbs. 7oz'er.
A few fish later I set the hook HARD on something and I think I yanked it out of it's mouth...felt good so I pitched it back into there hoping it'd hit it again. FISH ON!!!!!
It's been awhile since I've caught a fish with a mouth I could fit my fist into. My scale put her at 7lbs. 6oz, 2oz. bigger than my previous PB, but fought 20x harder. a much more memorable catch.
My thumbs are torn up and my back is sore, life is good.

Thanks! I took the toll road all the way down past ashburn. on the way up, i almost forgot I was still in VA. on the way back, I was all grins and the drive wasn't bad at all! It wouldn't have been bad if I lived in ashburn. well worth it though! can't wait to go back with the land owner so I can put him on some fish. the only fishing he's done there are with worms for bluegill.
