...is a silver buddy.
Tried many different baits this morning but only caught these two on a silver buddy "rolled" slow near the bottom.
A friend caught three on a smithwick rogue but I couldn't get them to bite a jerkbait.

Great wintertime bait.....I picked up some Krazyblades from Chris McCotter yesterday. Same look as a SB but with a slight curve.

I've been using a similar version from Buckeye Lures. They look exactly the same but they have eyes
Have you been throwing that Slammer Mike?

I've got a few w/ the eyes, not sure if they are the buckeye brand. There are so many heddon sonars, vib-e's, buddies, BPS blades, etc. in my collection its hard to keep track.
I haven't thrown topwater since September, so no love for the Slammer.

I've only had one glass of cognac, but I still can't riddle this one.
The Slammer hasn't left my tackle wall since last fall. ?

that's what I meant.
but maybe that's a charlie in the pic. I could be wrong, my Slammer is the XX version, I don't know what the normal single jointed one really looks like.

Its a charlie. Even the tail of a slammer wouldn't fit in that mesh pocket hence my confusion.
The charlie would be a great bait if it didn't tear from catching even smallish dinks. It's a pricey bait to have ruined after only a fish or two. On the other hand I've had them last longer. I've tried glueing the soft plastic back around the hard plastic portion but no go. I'm not aware of any other suspending soft plastic swimbait w/ a crankbait lip.

Comparing bottles of Jim Beam and Hennessy VS.
Both are 40% alcohol, or 80 proof.

I'm with Rob on the bourbon.
Technically, Jim Beam is as weak as bourbon is allowed to be and still be called bourbon. Many bourbons are more than 80proof.
And Andrew, don't knock the 'shine. I've had some shine that really wasn't that bad at all. Smelled like some sort of industrial cleaner but it didn't taste like anything at all.

Seriously, I love some good banjo playing. My friend's dad is a very good banjo player and I've always thought it was an awesome sounding instrument.
