Woke up at o-dark-thirty, drove to a very rural area of the state and floated
Launched on private property and floated to city ramp. Float was about 6.5 long. BEAUTIFUL float! Even caught a trout on a swimbait. Had to portage a dam. After I portaged the dam I realized I could have run it easily. No big smallies or l/m. Allot of panfish. Allot of dink smallies. Broke a rod. You could cast across the river in allot of spots. Fish were everywhere, but the bigger ones (12" being big) were in the predictable areas. Classic summer fishing areas.
YoY Smallies were everywhere. The river had an excellent spawn.
Pix still on camera - to tired to download.

Great to see you exploring new areas. Sounds like fun. Hope you had some shade.

Sounds like god's country, looking forward to the pictures.

Indeed God's country!
Old RR bridge - not certain it's still operating, but would assume not because of its condition
Didn't take many fish pix, but this one surprised us all
On the left of this pix is the chute to run the dam - easier than foraging
This is pretty much what we saw all day. Note the river narrowing into a chute we'll run. Small water
