Headed out to the reservoir at 0630 to get a little top water practice for tomorrow. I was in the water at 0700. I caught this fish at 0710 on a Rebel Pop-R in the orange color.
I then kept fishing the Pop-R and a huge bass exploded just a few inches behind it. I was told that this happens a lot when you are using topwater. I then kept fishing the grassy banks without a bite. I headed home at 0900 and wasn't to dissapointed even though I only got one.

I dont think there's a such thing as a bad top water bite, it's always fun no matter how big the fish! Looks like you got a pretty good one there! GJ!

Very nice! Now we need to get you to post these up and down instead of sideways!

Top water! That's all I have to say! One on the top is better than none at all.
I have to second what ER said, I'm lazy and don't want to turn my head.![]()

Charlie,
When you save your pictures, you should be able to rotate them...I know you can figure it out if I did!

I can rotate them when I save them but when I upload them to photobucket to put on your site it unrotates em.

sometimes when they miss a topwater, you can follow up with a fluke or senko and deadstick it and they'll take the followup
