Pacemaker Fishing Forum

I am planning a bachelor party for my sister-in-law's fiance and am thinking fishing. He serves in the Army and is currently stationed in Ft Drum, but he will be back in the area on Labor Day weekend (wish he could be here for the Ashburn VFC). He wasn't going to have a bachelor party because his groomsmen are scattered but I thought that wasn't acceptable haha. I taught him how to fish last summer and he recently has been really getting into it. He has been bass fishing nearly every day! I gave him a bunch of stuff but he has found he only catches with a texas rigged worm haha.

I'm trying to plan some time fishing and good eats. Right now it can be either Saturday or Sunday. I've been able to scramble a few of his friends together so we'll have 4 or 5 guys. I would like to take him on a charter, either on the bay or for LMB, but I'm sure there would be any availability for Labor Day weekend on such short notice. I'm going through the recommended captains on this forum. I really wanted to do a trip w/capt mike but 1) he is already booked, and 2) there are more than two people. So I'm trying to think of a backup option. It would be cool if we could rent a boat and/or kayaks but I'm not sure where would be good to do that. I think he's been doing relatively well in NY and I don't know the waters here well enough to put him on decent fish, at least numbers wise.  His home is in Montgomery County, MD so I'm aiming for something that is less than 2 hours away. I'd really appreciate recommendations for where would be good to rent boats and fish, and even as a last option to just do some shore fishing. Thanks all!
