Re: Is this a good deal on a kayak?

Find out what year it is first. You want something 2008 or newer with the click and go mirage drive locks vs the old twisting cam locks. Depending on the shape of the hull and the drive it seems like a decent deal. With the mirage drive you want to make sure it's smooth and there is not a lot of play in the drive. The V1 drives have a set screw for the masts that can loosen so hopefully it's a V2 drive. You can always upgrade if it is not. Check the chain and cables for rust and check the sprockets for missing teeth. Test paddle it if you can! The revo is an awesome fishing platform and my choice for rough water kayak fishing. However, it should be noted that it does not feeeeel stable at first. It has low primary stability which means you'll think it feels tippy at first, but you'll notice once you trust it more that it's actually extremely stable. Your butt is below the water line and you can roll around a lot more than you can in other kayaks. Plus in rough water it cuts through the chop much better than the outback I fish from now. I miss my revo a lot, but I love the outback for the extra space and being able to stand up in calm water.

I sold my 2010 Revo that had some significant bridge scrapes on it for $1250 2 years ago. Good luck!
