I got a surprise visit from Paul Najdzin on Friday afternoon and he presented me with a baseball signed by 2 Cuban legends, Julio Becquer #29 and Tony Oliva #16.



Paul works with Julio's son, Pedro. And he told me about told me some trivia that I did not know, the famed “All-Cuban triple play” involving Pedro Ramos, Julio Becquer and Jose Valdivielso.

Back in the summer of 1960 (I was still in Cuba) Whitey Herzog of Kansas City lined into a 1-3-6, triple play in the top of the 3rd inning. The Washington Senators won the game 8-3.
