FYI- Senate Bill 629 is coming up for vote tomorrow (1/28).  It is important to paddlers.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Navigation on certain waters. Provides that no person who is recreationally floating upon certain waters in a nonmotorized vessel shall be liable for civil or criminal trespass. The bill provides that existing ownership rights in real property shall remain unchanged.

For the past several weeks, ACA Executive Director Wade Blackwood and Stewardship Coordinator Greg Rolf have been meeting in Richmond with various Senators and their staffs to support SB629, the 'Freedom to Float' Bill. The Virginia Senate is expected to vote on the bill tomorrow, Tuesday, January 28th.
