So rough start to the weekend. 5k in damage to my car from the deer. I hit its head as it ran out into the road, then it spun around and hit the front quarter panel, both passenger side doors, rear quarter panel and cracked my hubcap.
The weather was pretty horrible. Been flyfishing a few times before but friday was going to be a full 8 hour day of dedication to it. Had my orvis 4 wt ready to go but being the novice that I am and how windy it was I gave up pretty fast. Shad were still running up there and a buddy of mine picked up a small one from the shore on a gold spinner.
Had 2 inches of rain at night - campsite was a muddy mess. Saturday turned out much better. It ended up being 65 degrees for the high so instead of doing the usually 18 mile trip we did a 10 miler. I had much better success fishing as well. I picked up 4 sunfish - not sure what type but they were pretty good size and 6 smallies all between 12 and 14 inches. One of them was almost black - first time i saw that color in one.
Very enjoyable day - caught my fist fish ever on a chatter bait and tube. Never had much confidence in tubes before but for an hour almost every cast with it i had hits (most of which i missed). I will definitely be giving them a try again.

Sorry to hear about your car. I have fished the delaware up by Hancock and it was awesome fly fishing for trout, albeit very challenging.
