Went to Dickerson today from about 2:30-5:00pm. Conditions were about the same as last time. I guess the water was 'warm'. No ice in that area on the MD side, but certainly not warm as the other warm spots we know.
I saw some massive schools of catfish, I'm talking hundreds! Huge dark masses. I had some tuna in leg nylons and mixed vegetable for bait. I'd drop that when I saw them and hang around for a bit. Dealing with the current is never fun and I didn't bring my anchor since I'd prefer to keep my hands dry and warm.
But I did drop a spoon into these masses and came up with one.

It's about 700ft from the parking lot to the edge of the river. I dragged my yak behind me. Between the lot and the canal trail there is a gate that keeps vehicles out. On each side there is 3-4ft of space to walk around it. Across the canal trail is a beaten down walking trail through the woods to the river.
