Last year we did Kephart to Algonkian.....we can do that again. Or we can do Lander to POR. Or POR to White's Ferry (might be a little of a pain unless someone has an idea for the take out).
Start early (6AM) and end up before noon.
Let the dialogue begin.....

Is this the annual 4th of July float? If so, I will see if my bro-in-law is interested. If he isn't, can I score dibs on the green monster?

This is it....but the 4th is on Sunday this year but lots of people are off on the 5th.
You have dibs on the green monster and a reservation on the canoe.

You would never get that done. I would think that is a two day float. POR to Ewards ferry would be a better choice if you want to go down stream.
I would like to go, but can't commit yet.

Wait...isn't Edwards Ferry below White's Ferry? Did I take a wrong turn somewhere?

I think you're right Ernie. Edward's Ferry is across from Goose Creek, is it not?

Ernie - if you guys do Kephart to Algonkian this year, count me in..

Yes, I miss spoke. I don't have my map at work, but there is a take out on the maryland side half way (or much less actually) from POR to Whites ferry. It is just past the water intake on the Maryland side and below all the islands that are fun to fish around.

Lander to POR would also be a short float.
Kephart to Algonkian might be a bit long. Remember, there will lots of folks on the water come noontime.
Jeff- let us know when you look at the map...that might be a nice short float.

I will take off work and go!

HEY!... What about Bob? I'll be there. As I remember, the Kephart - Algonkian float was earlier last year. July 4th was just fishing around Algonkian so we could beat the jetski terrorist navy off the river. Any trip is good, I'll try to keep up.

You must be talking about the Monocacy Aqueduct Ramp

This might be the easiest but we can do the same at Kephart...lots of good ledges just above the Goose and paddling back up the Goose is easy.

The Monocacy is further down. I was thinking of Nolands ferry. Turn right on 28 and right on Nolands ferry road.

Jeff- I am familiar with Noland's...had forgotten about it. Do you think it is doable (POR to Noland's....parking, take out ect)? That is a stretch that I have not fished except in your boat.
Offline
The negatives
It would be longer then Lander to por. The parking is not great at Nolands, but we would be early
The positives
Lots of structure and islands to fish around.
I think given the fact that you want to be off the water at noon. the lander float is the best option out of the two.

I am good with all of the floats discussed. I took off the whole day so I do not have any time constrictions...its up to yall.

Ernie - My bro-in-law is in, so we'll use the canoe if that is still cool. The green monster is now up for grabs! My only recommendation is that we have an anchor! We can provide it ourselves or if you have an extra one, that works too.
Offline
OK....green SOT kayak available for the float.
Coz- I have tons of canoe rope and an extra anchor as well. If we do Lander to POR, you may not need it as there are lots f areas to get out and wade.

We need to. I was going to do it earlier but I had no updates. I guess I am waiting for someone to sell their idea so we can all jump in!
We can do Algonkian again (in and out).....
Offline
OK....let's focus!
The US Men's Soccer team lost to Ghana....you are kidding right?
The Nats lose two straight to the O's??
Is Algonkian the winner (in and out at the same place) or do we try a shuttle float?
