I was supposed to fish with Jimmy today but we bagged that due to low water. I got out solo and was at my spot at 5:09am
I started with a popper but got no bites. I switched to a tiny whopper plopper.
That got a swipe on the first cast, so I stuck with that. After a couple misses, I got my first fish about 5:20am. It was a plump 15"er that would not sit still for measurement picture.
A couple minutes later, I was reeling the plopper through some swirling fish. One grabbed it and missed. I did not pull and a bigger fish immediately took the lure (pretty much stole it from the first fish). It pulled drag a few times before I got it to shore. I was able to measure this one.
It was now 5:36am.
There were still a couple active fish, but nothing hit the plopper or a small ned style bait I tried. Other than a couple carp going crazy, the activity pretty much died by 6:15am. I was headed home by 6:30am.

Nice report! I love how late the sun stays up this time of year but I wish it didn't rise so early. I basically have to wake up in the middle of the night to get to my spots at sunrise.

According to the Solunar Calendar, the Major was from 2:27 AM-4:27 AM and the minor form 7:49 AM-8:49 AM. If you buy into this, you should have stayed! ![]()
