Got out solo for an early morning trip. Water got a little bump after last evening's rain, but not much. Water was much warmer and more stained than Tuesday. Water temperature was around 77 degrees.
I made a run for spot 1.
There was some surface activity, but they did not hit the whopper plopper. I tossed a Z-man trick shotz on a sled head (like fluke basically) and hooked a 13 incher.

They were actively feeding near some submerged rocks. I just kept at them and caught a few more.
This was the biggest one that I think bit a sub-wart.
I ended up with 7 in that area before that bite died off.
After that I moved around and tried different lures. Water was more stained upriver and the bite was tough.
I Found another crankbait like the one I gave Jimmy in one of my crankbait boxes. I did a little touch up on it and it did catch a fish. It was not big though.
After a few casts, I noticed it was not swimming right. Then I noticed this.
That was just from fishing and ticking rocks. I will have to replace the bill. I did see a group of about 5 deer walking alonng a shoreline. They are hard to spot in the picture.
I picked off a couple more small fish, including this one that smashed this small Big-O crank.
I ended up with 10 smallies on various lures and lost a couple. It got hot after 10am and I got off the water just before 11am. The early bite was the ticket and it should only get better.
