Is it a boat or yak?
This is the new Bonafide XTR130 Fishing Kayak. It's 'only' $2899 but most will add a graph or two, a trolling motor, an anchor pole, and much more. I suspect that it will be $5-6K when all said and done. Maybe more.
The video shows the size and flexibility...and additional accessories (cost??)!

There come point price point where it just makes more sense to get a boat
Average price for any of my kayaks is in the $300-500 range. Then add another $100 for assures, such as an anchor, jam clean & RAM rod mount
And I can car top it if needed
The Bonafide XTR130 fishing kayak has a dry weighs of 155#
Some marketing genius added the word "fishing" in front of "kayak", allowing manufacturers to charge an extra couple thousand each

My Hobie weighed 140#. It was a great yak but a PIA to get in the 2500HD truck. Once I sold the truck, the yak had to go.
I've seen some tricked out trailers for these fancy yakboats. I bet they go $1-3k.
Time to go fishin' again!

This is how I've always felt. This looks like a super comfortable rig, but once you lose the portability and start adding motors and stuff I feel like you're better off buying a boat.
I saw there was a new jet powered kayak unveiled at Icast.

You can get a yakima kayak trailer for between $2500 to $3000. And tricked out trailer prices are more than that. They ain't cheap.
I made a kayak trailer from a jonboat trailer and a couple hundred in parts from Austin Kayak.

Some of these kayak "rigs" I've been seeing are borderline ridiculous. TV screen fish finders, bow mount trolling motors, power poles, 8 rods, etc etc etc. I keep thinking, if it flips you are screwed!
I like George's old saying " buy what you can afford to lose".
Just buy a boat.

Couple years ago, I floated with a guy who had one of those kayak "rigs"
He flipped the yak coming out of an eddy and 5 rod/reel combo's when into the water plus a bunch of gear
Another guy overloaded his yak. Flipped at the steps in by Harpers Ferry and lost over $1000 worth of stuff - including his waterproof sterio
I try to remain a minimalist when kayak fishing with all my stuff is either in a storage area or strapped to the yak
