Shopping on Base

Just wanted to share this nice benefit we have for military folks.  This is my receipt from the weekend.  The same bag of coffee at Walmart was $15 and is taxed.  Quantico $8.20 without tax.  I went down the list and some aren't as significant, but all of it being tax free is a huge bonus.

This was perfect for me since I'm having a family cookout and my thought is to go easy on myself.  Bubba burgers, Franks hot dogs/Georgia reds, ribs, beans, and smoked salmon.  I thought I would pick up the bulk of the cost with the meat products.  Better than family paying a premium.

Next is to go to the coast guard exchange and pick up the alcohol.  I'll share that receipt also.

I fixed your link (need to use BBCode (Forums).

All I have for a military ID is my DD214. Will that get me in?

Time to go fishin' again!

if you have a service connected disability you can.  But, I don't know the specifics behind that.

Re: Shopping on Base

We used to shop at the commissary all the time.  Great place for bulk purchases too
