Out in Iowa!

So I went out to Cedar Rapids (just the day before the travel melt down) and spent a few days there visiting family and such.  I queried everyone who fished and they all turned their nose at keeping anything for eating and it was all catch and release.
I found out that it was all Bass, Cat, and Carp.  Nothing else really.  I thought to myself that makes sense to me that it was all catch and release and how sad that is to not have a diverse fishery.  How lucky we are to have such a wide array of fish we can go after within a 1 hr drive!!
Just wanted to say out loud how fortunate I feel!

Good point. We (maybe it’s me) do get spoiled with what we have within a couple of hours.

Time to go fishin' again!

Agreed. We have so much variety here. VA is like a melting pot of all the northern and southern species, in both fresh and saltwater.
