11-9-07, Lake Anna fishing report

I am very unhappy to report that I am now 0 for 4 at Lake Anna while fishing for stripers! But....we did catch a few fish so the skunk was avoided.

This morning, Curly and I left his house at 0430 and took the 113 mile ride down to Lake Anna to fish a half day trip with C.C (Chris) McCotter. You can look him up at: (www.mccotterslakeanna.com). Chris is a first rate guide and worked hard to get us on the fish. We fished the "hot" side of the lake in his 21' Nitro bass boat with a 225 Merc monster motor. The weather was perfect, cloudy with a chance of rain with temps in the low 40s and rising to the 50s.

We tried several different methods to catch fish today; vertical jigging, drop shot, swim baits, top water walking the dog, fly fishing....you name it, we tried it! We may not have caught our stripers, but we caught large mouth bass....

I know that I enjoyed the time with Chris and can't wait to come back and try the "cold" side of the lake. Look for another Lake Anna report with Cris McCotter in the near future.

Another enjoyable day on the water!

Ernie
