5-30-06, fly casting accuracy practice & fishing report

As Curly had previously mentioned, Cedar Lake is full f algae on top and is almost unfishable. But I had the urge so I took my new 5wt TLS to see if I could do some spot casting to the open areas. The algae forced me to cast accurately and I was rewarded with over a dozen nice blue gills and a 1 lb 3 oz large mouth. All of this happened in an hour or so. Most of the blue gills hit a top water bug...I am still amazed by the sound and feel of the top water bite. Hopefully, the algae will die off soon as it was just treated yesterday.
