10-1-05, Potomac River (Lower) report

Bev Carroll and I got a late start  but we had another nice day of perching on light tackle but the numbers were way down from last week. Today we were fishing the incoming and outgoing high tides but last week it was the opposite. I think that  "skinny water" is better when flooded, it holds the bait better.

Regardless, we kept some nice perch including one that went 11".

We also caught some undersized rocks with the biggest being 17.5573".

That one was caught on a 5' ultra light pole with 4lb line. That's a nice fight....heck the 11" perch was a nice fight!

The numbers were:
                  WP         Stripers
Ernie        42        3
Bev        39        2

Weatherman swore to me that the winds would be 2-3 out of the SE. They got the SE part right but the wind did kick up the river a bit this afternoon.
