Lake Royal 8/14

It's been awhile since I've been out so I had no idea where the fishing was hot.  I was going to go to Huntsman but my buddy wanted to go to Royal and since he's been having a rough week (his father is in the hospital and not doing so well  sad ) we went to Royal.

Took my kayak and had no idea where to fish. I haven't fished Royal much this year so I went where ever my friend wanted to go. We started at the end near the concrete boat launch (west of the dam,  i think...). It was hot so I figured the fish would be deep.

Caught two keepers pretty quick, including one close to 3#, dragging a flappin hog on a jig head across the bottom.

Caught another keeper off a texas rigged blue/black lizard and a power worm also dragged across the bottom.

It was hot and mid day so I didn't expect to catch much but it was good to be fishing again!  big_smile

I need to catch up to everyone else!

I was wondering if you were whetting a line! Glad you got out!
