cedar sun night

i went back, and did well drop shotting with a nose hooked white beavertail.

this particular bait was a shaw grigsby strike king make.

they are clearing these out at dicks for 1.99 a bag
i bought some eagle clawhooks, they were like cheap, 50 in a box, as opposed to 2.79 for six gamakatsu drop shot specials.

and again i went with a 1/8 bullet weight, thrown on six pound trilene flouro.
using it up, back to four pound mono when it is gone.

any way i caught plenty, with a few good one's mixed in.
ernie and i agreed to call one a 2.8
it made a good show on the light tackle.

i hooked another good one on ernie's corner, that i lost on the jump.
it could have gone three pounds.
i knew it was heavy, but i was fishing over the shrubs and couldnt get my rod down-
so with a tip some 13' in the air, steady pressure leads a fish right to the top-

i laughed it off, but it was tough not getting a better look at it, and, losing the bonus of showing off to ernie by getting two good ones in one night...

it was good fun

Re: cedar sun night

at the Dick's I worked at a few years ago they were one of the perpetually "on sale" items. They have some good styles and colors of baits and they are definitely loaded with salt.
