Hit the Pavilion while the wife napped...not a bad tradeoff!
I was blessed with mostly cloudy conditions, a nice wind, and some scattered rain drops. This allowed me to focus on a topwater presentation. Sooooo, I used a frog (shocker), a pop-r, and a beetle spin. I ended up with 12 bass, a few were keeper size, a couple were tiny, but for the most part, I think our summer contest last year thinned the herd, er, school.
I was fortunate to land some open water frog bass which is something I haven't done much of. I would just heave the frog out there, walk the dog, and wham!
It was a pretty good bite for fishing in the middle of the afternoon.
