4-21-06 Crappie, bluegill, bass day!

So here is how it goes....I was to leave today for Cobb Island for the Potomac River Anglers Club tournament on Saturday. The weaher folks were calling for lots of rain and thunder for Saturday so I backed off and got out of the tournament.

Plan B was to go to Fletche's this morning with Curly. But the weather folks were calling for T-storms in the AM so I backed off that. Woke up his morning to a PERFECT Fletcher's day. I am NOT a happy fisherman.

So I took the morning off and did a little fly fishing in the pond. Plenty of action on the 4 wt. I caught 3 bass, 7-8 crappie and 3-4 bluegill in an hour and a half. Excellent time! They are still small, I suspect the big stuff is bedding down like Curly said. Pictures are on the photo page.

Update- went back out tonght before he rain and caught 6 more crappies, several blue gill including one that went over a 1/2 pound and several large mouth bass (one we close to 2 lbs and broke the line right before I could land him).

Time to go fishin' again!
