Beech Report - 3/22/09

I headed out to Beech (not the beach) on Sunday for some evening fishing. After trying my hand with a jig and also with a grub, I decided to try a three inch Berkley Power Minnow. It turned out to be a good pattern. The bass were killing it leaving no doubt that they wanted it. I ended up with six bass, but nothing too big. I saw two larger bass with one between 2-3 and the other between 3-4. The 2-3 was chasing a maimed bait fish which got me pumped considering my lure of choice, but he was not interested. I threw the jig at the larger bass, but he was not interested in that.

It was good to see some bigger fish up in the shallows. I hope they continue to move up as the water temps rise.

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!
