February 20th rabbit hunt

I met up with some friends and headed down to Culpepper for a rabbit hunt with dogs. If you have never done that; It works like this. Once the rabbit gets jumped the dogs follow it's scent. Rabbits will circle back to stay in their home territory. The dogs will bark when the are on the trail, so you can follow their progress, knowing that the rebbit can be from 20 yds or serval minutes in front of the dogs. You must stay alert as the cover is very thick and if the rabbit shows himself you will only have a second to snap off a shot.
The dogs ran 12 and we harvested 9.

Here is the group enjoying an after hunt beverage and a beautiful sunset.
