Guess Winter isn't technically over yet, but the daffodils are up and the peepers are singing. Been doing my usual routine of hitting some Chesapeake bay tributaries, getting out about 3 times per month. I've had warm sunny days and days where I had to cast between ice patches. Last weekend it was 40 degrees and soaking rain.
Numbers were way down from last year but size was good. Got at least one 24"+ speck on almost every trip this Winter. I've mostly been throwing homemade twitchbaits, and occasionally soft plastics and jerkbaits. Seen numerous monster stripers chasing big gizzard shad but I'm after trout so I haven't really targeted the cows. Anyway, here's some pics from the last few months.

It was really nasty, but the fish were chewing good! Fortunately I always bring a dry change of clothes for the long ride home.
