2022 Year of the Smallies

Had my best big fish year.  Here are a few highlights.  Thought I might get one more trip in, but weather does not look promising for that.

Started with a 19.75" on a jerkbait in February

March was great with several over 19. Here are a 19 and 20 from early March

19.75 the next morning on same lure

Then my birthday trip with a porker 18.75  and 20ish

What a great comeback for the bigger smallies after the last couple years.  They were just adapting to the conditions we had.  Hopefully, between a better spawn and some grass to hide in, the 2022 class will be considered as a success and the future will improve.

Wow!  I definitely miss fishing the UP for those smallies.  I'll have to post my 2022 year in a couple of weeks.
