4-7-22, Cedar

I was frustrated because my Upper Potomac River float today was cancelled. That's 2 trips cancelled this week! mad

So I thought to myself, the weather sucks so I did what Curly would have done. Go pond fishing!

It was raw out...hands got cold immediately from the cold misty rain.

I was fishing a Ned rig but fished it like a jig (moving it slow like Curly does his PnJ).

Didn’t have tape or scale but the other pic is a reference.

I think an easy 5 pounder and maybe more...I will never know for sure.

Clearly the biggest pig I have caught at Cedar.

She was fat and I didn't want to handle her a lot so back in the water she went. Oh, and 1st AV fish of the year.

At 1st, I thought I was snagged when I set the hook (very faint pick up). Then it moved. Then it peeled line as the rod is a ML. Carp maybe? Then she surfaced. cool

Who needs the Potomac when you can catch a fish like that almost in your backyard...

Very, very nice fish!  Love the persistence!  When one location is not hitting, try another.

Went out today looking for some bass on the 7wt. Had a couple of bites and then this guy.

My friend Jamie was out and caught a monster red ear. I'm hoping to get the pic.
