OBX Oct 22 to 30th

Rented a house in Avon for the entire family. Fishing was on the list of things to do. Catching was another story. Fished out in front of house first evening and only got a couple of very small black drum. Next day did not fish or the next day. Finally herded the cats into a trip to the south beach in Frisco. Caught my very first Pompano that day and put four in the cooler by end of day. Ate them at our Spooky Halloween dinner grilled with a splash of lime. Dang they are tasty. Two more days of outrageous rip tides meant 8 n bait just rolled on down the beach. Got out late after Spooky dinner to shark fish at night and much to my surprise a couple of flasks where passed around. Buzzed and no hits we headed in around 1am. Next day was a late start to Frisco again. Caught some small blues and small black drum..I have pics somewhere on a Google share but I can not find it.

Will update with pics later.

Pompano is as tasty as they come… but staying up until 1am is hard core!

Time to go fishin' again!
