Securing Rod in the Rod POD

Anyone have a good hack for securing rods in their ocean kayak rod pod? Years ago I tried sticky sided Velcro attached to the bottom. That only lasted about a season before it was coming off. I really don't like having my loose rods banging around in there. Bad things are going to happen to one sooner or later.

You can always store then on the outside of the kayak

When I had my OK, I had the same concern. I tethered them….sometimes. I did lose a rod or 3 when I didn’t.

Time to go fishin' again!

Re: Securing Rod in the Rod POD

This is mostly for surf passage when at the  beach, but I'm also lazy and like to just shove them in the rod pod and carry everything at once and throw the kayak on top of the car.

Hookup, I'm going to have to look into that.

I think the rod socks are probably your best option. When I had my trident I tried to use pool noodles to cushion them / keep them from banging around in the rough surf as much but it's going to happen. I do miss that hatch though!
