Cool story. You got a bigger set than I do!!! I would have put the boat on the trailer and launched in Lake of the Isles. Glad you caught some. Make tomorrow a good one.

Awesome stuff. Finally get into some numbers. Does not surprise me you made friends at dinner. Nice connection and cool boats he makes.

We thought abut it but most of the lake was whitecaped!
Plus, the boat is in the water and the trailer is a few miles away. Can't keep it at our compound. Details that I didn't know about...

The boats are all wood. There is some copper tubing for the exhaust but he carves out everything else.
Greg and I just talked and realized that the pics don't do it justice. Amazing work.

Day 6
And the wind, cries Ernie. A little Hendrix anyone? I was singing (trying) this Hendrix song a lot as we had mucho wind the last 4 days. Craig appreciated the song, Greg had never heard of it. We will get him on some Hendrix on the way home.
All I can say is that I had my hiney handed to me this trip. The waves, the slow fishing and the wind. Good gracious...I will need all of next week to recover. But...it was a great time!
We started at the stone house but we had no hits. It was also when we realized that the 10-12 mph was the best we were gonna get.
We decided to go across the river to some islands but the wind forced us to go to a sheltered area we had already fished .
Before we went, Greg got the is shot the Bolt Castle.
There are some very cool looking places on these islands.
We got to the fishing hole and started catching a few little ones...
--- Picture of Ernie here---
Apparently, my photographer didn't like my fish.
...and some nice ones!
On the way in and out (very narrow entrance) of Lake of the Isles, we noticed this.
It's either party camp or an enterprising restaurant. No sign of life while we were here.
As I was waiting to put the boat back on the trailer, I saw this starched flag!
I will be dreaming of winds and waves for quite a while...hope they don't become nightmares!
Last sunset here...
Craig had the hot hand all week. I am so honored to have him on my boat.

Sorry the fishing didn't meet your expectations but it still sounds like a good adventure. That place can be magical if you break the code and the weather cooperates. Have a safe trip home.

Great adventure! It's all about the journey. Now you know.
Safe travels.

Well, I hope you got to light some good cigars at least!

Many stogies were smoked and many stories were told. An adventure it was.
And as we leave...the river is like glass.

Visiting with Al and Pauline was priceless. Something that I am not likely to forget.
. It's not always all about the fishing
Sounds like y'all had a blast and a bit of excitement with the wind too

Please don't bring any wind home with you.
Cool trip with a lot of good pics. Did the Pike get airborne? I'd love to hang into one of those.
