5-19-21, Cedar

Went out for a few minutes with the long stick. Nice day out!

I caught a few BG's and a small bass.

I spooked a nice bass in the shallows and I saw the fry ball! Someone had a good spawn!

Nice colors on that sunny, looks like a pumpkinseed/redear hybrid.

Yes...hundreds of them. With a big bass nearby. Would not touch my fly. Good news for the lake!!

When we 1st looked at the lot, the whole area was a mud pit. One could not imagine then, what we have now. But I did. While the 'hood was being built, red clay dust and mud were the order of the day. For years. Many power washings of the deck and siding. And some clandestine fish stocking!

Re: 5-19-21, Cedar

BG's are still off shore (behind my house) but I managed 5 plus a couple of small bass.

These two red ears were nice.

And yes, they ate an Ernie no name home made fly.

The fry ball is still intact and the little bass are growing.  The male guard showed himself a few times but never went after my fly. Apparently, they don't eat much while they guard.
