Where to break in a new boat engine?

Never done it before, and it seems like I need to spend about 2 hours breaking in a new Mercury. I'm hesitant to do it on the Potomac because I've seen what can float in there. I'm thinking the closest place within a couple hours where I can run without a HP limit is Lake Anna.

If we don't have a water infusion event on the 'mac, you should be OK there. Put in at Gravelly and just head down until it's time to come back up.

Or...put in at Leesylvania. Big Potomac down there.

Time to go fishin' again!

Agree with Ernie.  Lake Anna is often low this time of year on the water level and it's just easier to do it on the Potomac with long stretches.  Two hours on the water, or two hours driving to LKA depending on traffic that is.....
