Catfishing Beaverdam Reservoir

Hi all.  After a long time fishing for bass and pan fish, I have recently gotten interested in catfishing (all catch and release).  I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share any advice about finding cats in Beaverdam?

Thanks

I have caught them using live bluegills and chicken livers long time ago.  They are in there.

Can't help you on Beaverdam

But when I float the local rivers I see them everywhere and occasionally catch one on scented soft plastics

When I lived in TX, my neighbor would pick up road kill and leave it sit in his back yard until everyone complained.  Then he'd grind it up, wrap it up in cheesecloth, and put a hook into the cloth bag.  Didn't have to wait to long until we had enough enough for dinner.  Kinda gross but effective

Cheesecloth or stockings work for livers too.

Can I find them by the boat launch area, or should I be looking by the dam?

I caught them in the cove to the right of the ramp area, but biggest most likely near dam.  This time of year can be funny, with the thermocline and turnover effects.  Fish where you can near deeper water.
