Good sign? Oh Yeah!

First time in years the blue gills and panfish were plentiful on this float.  I've downsized my offerings due to the lack of quality fish.  Yesterday I caught a couple dozen blue gills and they harassed me for about 5 hours. And they had some size too.  Fun on a light power rod w/ 6# mono.  The return of the blue gills is showing the river's getting healthy.

Also got some nice smallies, but nothing bigger than 16".  I think my buddy had one that was 17".  All smallies were healthy.  Allot of little ones too, so again, hope they'll last to grow bigger in the next couple years.

Water was up a bit and pushy.  Hard to maintain a position.  Wind was in our face all day so floating was slow. Sometimes the wind was stronger than the current and pushed us up river.   Did 4.5 miles in about 6-7 hours.

We caught blue gills, red breasted panfish, small mouth and large mouth

Deer were everywhere.  Numerous bald eagle and osprey sightings.  Heron were feeding actively on minnows for the first 1/2 of the day and when they went into the tress, the fishing slowed down.
