6-1-20, Chesapeake Bay

Today, we fished the other side of the world...3 hour drive!

Maybe Paul Naj can identify where we were...

John, Trent and I fished with Capt. Steve Mason of Beach to Bay Guides (highly recommended). We went 95% fly!

We started at 10:15a due to the long drive and we quit at 6p.

Beautiful topography!

It all started with a flounder...well, that's what it looked like at 1st!

Trent and I hooked up!

We caught a few more or those little rats and Trent gets the prize we are targeting!

The winds were a bit more that what they called for it but this is an experienced fly crew so no worries!

Lots of nice pics...

This is the best I could do to try to get Trent to hold a spinning rod!

In the mid afternoon the tide died and so did the bites. And...we had to wait longer than expected for it to come back, due wind.

But once it started moving, we were back on 'em!

Obviously, Trent had the hot stick. This one went 20"!

And this one went 19.75" which Trent called as he did not want me to beat him for big fish.

These specks are a blast on the long stick.

John and I each caught  a striper on the spinning rod and I caught a nice speck that I had to keep fighting because Trent was also hooked up. Unfortunately, he got off. All I heard from the guys was what a "gator" it was! Arrgh!

And then...we went back in!

We had a blast w/ Capt. Steve. Many fish were caught, many stogies were smoked, many stories were told, many laughs were had and we were all satisfied at the end of the trip.

Oh hell yeah! That’s Aids to Navigation Team Crisfield, Crisfield, MD. I spent eight glorious months there in 1979 / 1980.
