I know that I have misidentified warmouth before...what we have in AV ponds are green sunfish.

Al Agnew's good at describing the differences between fish - his words are almost as visual as his art

I didn't see the Roanoke bass listed - very rare species of sunfish only native to VA and NC

Grubby & I did a multi-day canoe float/camping trip on a river known to have the Roanoke bass and we were both rewarded with a catch.  Never felt so much joy catching a sun fish.

There aren't any Roanoke bass (why that name/) in NoVA....

True - Grub & I had to travel to find them - but we were still in VA
