Yes, I still fish ...

Had a chance to float and fish from the kayak Saturday.  Day started chilly, but turned into the perfect fall day.  Deer everywhere and even crossing the stream, bald eagles soaring, and even the ground hogs were out scouting.

Fish were sparse, but healthy.  Everything on soft plastics

Nice George...glad you got out and caught some fish! Looks nice out.

Not sure the rivers got to rise much with yesterday's rain. John is out today and will let us know.

Re: Yes, I still fish ...

I would call that a perfect day!  Nothing better than watching wildlife prep for the winter and being out there a part of it.  Nice George!

Thx

Forgot to say - the river was ours that day - no other kayaks or shore anglers

Re: Yes, I still fish ...

I would like to say I still fish!  This year has been bad for fishing.  Moving from 2 homes to 1.  Was in car wreck (rear ended by semi truck) and working my way back to full health!  I'll be ready for winter trout and spring!!  Looking forward to getting out with everyone including you George!

Being on the IL is never good. Glad you are on the mend.

Can't even imagine what you experienced.

Re: Yes, I still fish ...

Ended up having to buy a new truck since mine was totaled.  Trooper said if I was in anything smaller....they would've been cutting me out.  Imagine that....a semi truck (fuel truck) driver not paying attention on Rt 66 while I'm at a dead stop.  He was doing about 40mph and crushed 3 of us and I was the first.  Much better now!

Glad to hear you are ok and on the mend

Buddy at work's brother got hit on the 10 in Texas by a semi a few months ago - results were not as good as yours

Re: Yes, I still fish ...

I know I was lucky.  My FJ saved me no doubt.  I'm thankful for it and having modified it for off roading because the steel reinforcement plates under the truck, long travel suspension and heavy duty front bumper definitely protected me.  My seat broke and I was laid out flat.  The state trooper said the semi was doing about 40 and never hit the brakes....he thinks he fell asleep.  The suv in front of me when I was stopped was 1 car length away, and she was still 1 car length away after the collision except her back door was pushed into the back seat.  The semi and the car in front were disabled and couldn't be moved (needed tow).  I just drove my truck off to the side and everyone was surprised it didn't look worse.  The trooper said if I was in a sedan, they would've been cutting me out.
