Piankatank River 9/28

Made my first ever trip to the Piankatank River on Saturday. A friend joined me and it was his first time out there as well. We got into blues and stripers on topwaters first thing in the morning, and later on added lizardfish, puppy drum, and some nice specks to our catch by jigging and popping corks. Everything was released. Never found any real good grass beds so we got our fish off points, docks, and oyster bars. The Piankatank is a really cool river, the water is much clearer than anywhere else I've fished this year and is full of life. If I had remembered my crab net I probably could have filled half a bushel just by netting them off dock pilings. Can't wait to go back.
