Royal Lake 9/11/19

I was able to get my kayak onto Royal Lake in Fairfax Wednesday morning for a few hours and had some success.  Nothing big, but still fun. The fish population there seems healthy, but probably still two years away from holding a good share of fish in the 3lb class.

First two fish came quick on the Rage Twin Tail grub:

The next one was small, but I was happy to get my first ever fish on a suspending jerk bait:

Other fish were caught on a 4 inch Keitech Easy Shiner (bluegill flash color).  Overall I think I landed 8 and missed only a couple bites.

That lake was frequented by lots of guys who post or used to post here. Glad to see it alive again.

Time to go fishin' again!
