Definitely getting to be serious.  I hope next Spring we get good news.  Pretty sad, really.

Might need to close fishing season during spawn months.

At least close it to people keeping and /or putting fish in live wells (tourneys).

I am usually shad fishing in April. If they spawn in May, I may catch one but I have no clue where they spawn so I have never targeted them there...or would in the future.

I watch people target spawning fish at the AV ponds. You can see them and get them agitated enough to get a bite. At least, most of them return the fish right there. But there are always poachers looming around....

Yes, but that would not help the conditions we have now...for a long while.

Pretty easy to spot beds in clear water.  In Canada Leon and I saw many bass on their beds - avoided casting to them to let them do their thing.  But once you've seen a bass on its bed, you know

Yep...I just don't go looking for them. Too fragile especially in the Upper 'mac.

That is true.  The future is still TBD and I hope for the best.  Scary to think this is the beginning of the end.

Bass can move 30 miles up or down river.  They also can get lock jaw which is understandable with the wonky weather patterns we've been having.  The bass are still around, finding them is a challenge.  Then getting them to bite is a whole new issue.
