Bob and I were on the water just as the sun was coming up...
...and I decided to make the long run up to Harrison Island.
This is where there is some swift water. When we got to the 1st target, we could see that the water was very stained...almost muddy. But a minor correction towards the VA side and we had green water.
It was around 7a that Bob scored 1st!
Oh yea, almost forgot. It was a bit chilly on the ride up. I had a fleece vest on and Bob had his Frogg Toggs.
The Gen. Jubal Early taking commuters across the river.
At around 8a, I scored this massive smallie!
That's all the fish pics (obligatory 1st fish pic) since all the other fish were all less than 12".
We caught 3 around Harrison Island and had a couple of other bites but it was rather pathetic.
We then moved down to Selden Island and caught 2 more small ones. Both of us had some fish on as well but they came off.
Time was running short since I wanted to get off the water by 12:30p so we hit the chute where Bob had some success last time out. Not this time except when he had his braided line wrap around his tip. When he undid it, a smallie was on and Bob tied me...3-3!
We called it just after that.
We covered a lot of water, some of it twice. I have no clue where the fish are.

At least you got out and tried. Nice day to be out.

Bluebird skies make for tough fishing. Y'all did better than I did here at the ponds today.

Love getting out at dawn like that. Too bad the fishing wasn't better.
