I was torn whether to fish today or tomorrow, but decided to get out today due to possible thunderstorms tomorrow. It was chilly (50's), so I got out a little later. I was on the water a little after 7:00am. Mix of sun and clouds with a light breeze. The water was more stained than yesterday which was a disappointment. I tried fishing downstream for a while, but got no bites. I ran up to the flooded island and finally caught a small fish on a swimbait. I then caught another small one on a spinnerbait. That took me to about 11am and the bite shut down, I tried some blowdowns on the inside of an island, but just caught one small SM on a crankbait. I ran upriver a little ate my lunch and caught another small SM on a different crankbait. I floated back to the flooded island and then DNR stopped by to check me. No fish there, so I decided to float the islands back.
I stopped and worked a couple areas and finally caught a 16.25"er on the TRD craw.
Then a 15"er on a swimbait.
It was after 3:30pm, so I ran down to float the next island before calling it a day. I was throwing a swimbait and a stupid rigged tube and had a 16"er chase the tube down.
A little while later, I hooked a better fish on the tube. It was 18.75" and bit the tube good.
I was almost at the end of the island and it had been a long day. The bite definitely got better in the afternoon. I even saw evidence of some topwater activity. I finished with 8 smallies. The bite should get better with the warmer weather coming up as long as it doesn't storm too much.

Nice job getting them!
No PM bite for me tomorrow as there will be some storms moving in. Hoping for the best in the morning....
